African countries are set to receive far fewer COVID-19 vaccine doses than initially expected from Covax. The organisation was established to ensure a more equitable distribution of the vaccines. The World Health Organisation, which helped set up Covax, says there is a deficit of 100 million doses. • This means that Covax will miss the December target to distribute 520 million doses.
