Using Roof Brackets on an Existing Slate Roof

Often roof brackets are needed to access existing slate roofs. The brackets are fastened through the existing slates to provide a base for a roof scaffold of planks. A ladder can then be positioned on the scaffold. In this video, a lower roof on a church is being used to access a higher roof. Both roofs needed roof jacks and planks. In this video, the roof has already been accessed and the roofer is now coming down and removing the roof brackets as he descends.
