William Blake (1757–1827), one of the greatest poets in the English language, also ranks among the most original visual artists of the Romantic era. Born in London in 1757 into a working-class family with strong nonconformist religious beliefs, Blake first studied art as a boy, at the drawing academy of Henry Pars. • #williamblake #poetry #art #bookstagram #literature #blake #poet #poetrycommunity #oscarwilde #poesia #williamblakepoetry #poetsofinstagram #williamshakespeare #arte #books #poem #songsofinnocence #emergingartist #emilydickinsonpoetry #curator #writersofinstagram #williamwordsworth #nature #evolutionarytheory #environmentalniches #williamblakequote #democide #senicide #evolutionarybiology #lordbyron#williamblake#poetry#williamblake #poetry #art #bookstagram #literature #blake #poet #poetrycommunity #oscarwilde #poesia #williamblakepoetry #poetsofinstagram #williamshakespeare #arte #books #poem #songsofinnocence #emergingartist #emilydickinsonpoetry #curator #writersofinstagram #williamwordsworth #nature #evolutionarytheory #environmentalniches #williamblakequote #democide #senicide #evolutionarybiology #lordbyron#blake#literature#poetry#williamblake • In the poems of Innocence Blake extols the virtue of innocence. He uses the symbols of the 'lamb', the 'children', 'flowers', 'shepherds' and other symbols to eulogize the uncorrupted goodness of innocence. This trend is clearly evident in “Holy Thursday” of Innocence.
