A follow up to my post about the Mellotron sounds Brian used and how he selected them: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?stor... • Here is a MKI or MKII Mellotron demonstration from a 1966 episode of Blue Peter. Note the Channel and Track selector buttons on the right hand side of the Mellotron. • In the demonstration of the lead side of the Mellotron we can see and hear that they had selected Channel 3. The sounds available for this channel begin approximately 15ft along the length of the tapes. This sound starting point on the tapes is aligned with the tape heads under each of the keys ready to be played. They also show the 3 different lead sounds available on Channel 3 by pressing the Track selector buttons. The sounds are: Track A, spanish guitar. Track B, piano.
