Which football clubs were ranked highest in the UEFA Ranking? • The UEFA Club Coefficient is a ranking that shows how many points have been earned by teams playing in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and since last season's UEFA Europa Conference League over the last 5 seasons. Since the 1997/98 season UEFA Club Coefficient has been calculated using a new formula and the coefficient given is the sum of the points scored in the European cups. Previously UEFA gave the average number of points from the last 5 seasons in the Champions League and UEFA Cup and therefore the clubs' coefficients were lower than they are now. UEFA Club Coefficients decide the placement of teams in the Champions League and Europa League as well as how much money each club gets from UEFA. Only 15 teams were ranked 1st in the UEFA Ranking. Real Madrid have been the best team most times (20) according to UEFA Club Coefficients. Barcelona has been first in the ranking 8 times and Juventus 7 times.
