Short video on how to make Gulab Jamun. :) • Ingredients: • For Sugar Syrup: • Sugar - 2.5 Cups • Water - 2 Cups • Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder - 1/2 Tsp • Saffron Strands - A Pinch • Lemon Juice - Of 1/2 Lemon • For Jamun Dough Frying Jamuns: • Khoya (Khova / Mawa) - 1 Cup • Paneer Chhena - 1/2 Cup • Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder - 1/2 Tsp • All Purpose Flour (Maida) - 2 Tbsps • Baking Powder - 1/2 Tsp • Oil - For Deep Frying • Recipe: • 1. In a pan add 2.5 cups of sugar, 2 cups of water and on a low flame boil till you get thick flowing sugar syrup. • 2. Turn off the flame and add 1/2 tsp of cardamom (elaichi) powder, a pinch of saffron strands, juice of a half lemon (to prevent sugar syrup from crystallization) and mix well. • 3. Onto a large plate, add 1 cup of Khova (Khoya / Mawa) and run knead it smoothly. • 4. Also add 1/2 cup of Paneer Chhena to it and knead it smoothly. • 5. Now add 1/2 tsp of cardamom (elaichi) powder, 2 tbsps of all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp of baking powder to it and mix and knead well into a smooth dough. • 6. Divide the dough into small portions and make small balls out of each dough portion. • 7. Heat the oil in a kadai for deep frying and once the oil is hot enough, switch to low flame and drop the Jamun balls one by one. • 8. Swirl the kadai once and keep on stirring it using a spoon till they turn reddish-brown in colour. • 9. Take them out and drop into the sugar syrup and mix well. • 10. Garnish with some chopped almonds and serve after 4 hours atleast.
