There's no shortage of horror this Halloween season and trying to sift through the bloated selections can be taxing. • Thankfully, there are more than a handful of diamonds in the rough, with one of my personal favorites being Ryan Spindell‘s horror anthology film The Mortuary Collection (review), which is coming to Shudder this Thursday, October 15th. • The Mortuary Collection tells five twisted tales that harken back to classics anthology films of the 70s with loving inspiration from EC horror comics. Fans of Tales from the Crypt , Goosebumps and especially Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark are in for a treat. • In this exclusive clip, a young drifter (Caitlin Fisher/Custer) applies for a job at the local mortuary and meets an eccentric mortician (Clancy Brown) who chronicles the strange history of the town through a series of twisted tales, each more terrifying than the last. • The drifted requests a dark and twisted story...something awesome.
