Here is my latest improvisation on the aulos, an ancient greek instrument based off an artifact housed in the Louvre Museum dating to the Hellenistic period. • The two pipes both have a range of a major sixth and are offset by a perfect fourth. You can change the tuning of the lowest note by covering tone holes with wax as I have done here. • The aulos, a double-reeded musical instrument, played a crucial role in the music and culture of ancient Greece.
