In this video we discuss how to identify male and female boas using the palpating method. A more educational-ish video but useful in understanding a snakes anatomy and reproductive organs. • The hemipenes are a pair of intermittent organs found only in the snakes and lizards. They are located in a pocket found at the base of the tail behind the cloaca. To ensure sp*rm transport, the hemipenes is grooved and the tip is rough or spinous. The hemipenes are returned into the body by a process called invagination where they are turned outside in by retractor muscles. The opposite of this would be during er*ction when they are turned inside out, a process called evagination, which forces the hemipenes through the cloaca. Only one hemipen*s is inserted and used during copulation (Kardong 2002). • Please consider supporting our Patreon for exclusive live chats and more. •   / jasonsexoticreptiles   • Thank you to our Patrons, you guys make this possible! • Matt Potito • Mandi • Daniel Tal • Zach Cohen • Dawid Bator • Fawzi Rifai • C J Reptiles and Exotics • Haydn Cuff • Edith Hernandez • Morphing Time AZ • Timothy Andrew McCabe • Jemmas Boaz • Colt Freeman • Ryan Yoshimura • Jessie Felske • Joanna • Gunblade60 (Alex) • Theodore Frazier • • Check out our website and other social media: • www.jasonsexoticreptiles.com • www.facebook.com/jasonraimondi1 • www.instagram.com/jasonsexoticreptiles • www.facebook.com/jasonsreptiles
