Hip Dysplasia in dogs is a condition where there has been an abnormal formation of the hip socket and this can cause lameness or arthritis of the joints. Hip Dysplasia doesn't have to be a death sentence. Hip Dysplasia can be treated either with medicine and/or surgery. Hip Dysplasia does not only occur through genetics but there are environmental factors that also cause Hip Dysplasia. Don't be too quick to blame your breeder as Hip Dysplasia can also be brought about through an unnoticed injury.
