Learn how to disassemble a typical gas lift bar stool. Cover your floor to prevent damage. • 2. Depress your stool to its lowest height using the gas lift handle. • 3. Undo the screws and remove the seat. • 4. Turn your stool over, grip the column below the base, and tap the column’s end with a rubber mallet, making sure you don’t hit the black clip. If the column does not slide out, spray some WD40 into either side of the joint. • 5. Now the base is removed, turn the stool over. Use a mallet and flat-headed screwdriver to lightly hit the rim around the gas lift button.
