When Johnny Green was checking me out to play Edith Head’s funeral I told him that in addition to “Body and Soul” I was also a fan of his song “I Cover the Waterfront”. I first heard it sung by one of my favorite jazz artists the great trombonist and vocalist Jack Teagarden.
