Fastest FFXIII CP Farming Wladislaus

This video demonstrates the fastest (practical--see footnote) CP farming method in FFXIII. This farming spot is only available during chapter 13 after defeating Wladislaus and before entering the Narthex. If you reach this area without the resources necessary for the required equipment/Crystarium development, you can use the dark statue at the area’s beginning platform (visible at 1:27) to teleport back to the beginning area of Orphan’s Cradle. • Equipment: • Fang • Venus Gospel-* • Tetradic Tiara • Sprint Shoes • Morale Talisman • Lightning • Helter-Skelter-* • Tetradic Tiara • Growth Egg • Morale Talisman • Snow • Battle Standard-* • Sprint Shoes • Tetradic Tiara • Morale Talisman • These are the best STR weapons for each character, along with auto-buff accessories designed to boost your offense and induce Lightning to immediately cast Enthunder. Vigilance from Tetradic Tiara has the additional benefit of allowing your physical attacks to disrupt Wladislaus: as long as you are hitting him, he cannot initiate actions. • Paradigms: • Fang/Lightning/Snow • Premeditation COM/SYN/SEN (default) • Bully SAB/SYN/COM • Dirty Fighting SAB/COM/SEN • Cerberus COM/COM/COM • Cerberus COM/COM/COM • Strike Team COM/SYN/COM • Strategy: • Set the cursor to “Abilities” in the settings menu. Open the fight with a string of 5xDeprotect. Be ready to shift to Strike Team as soon as Deprotect is inflicted. Auto-battle and shift to Cerberus as Fang completes her attack string (Lightning should be done casting Enthunder on each character by this point). Auto-battle to victory, shifting between the Cerberus paradigms as needed to trigger ATB refreshes. • If Deprotect does not land from the initial string of 5, shift to Bully and Repeat (see 3:06 and 3:51). As soon as it lands, shift to Cerberus and Auto-battle to victory. If Deprotect still doesn’t land, shift to Dirty Fighting and keep using Repeat until you get Deprotect, then shift to Cerberus. • If you see Mounting Contempt and Deprotect is cured, shift to Dirty Fighting and Repeat until Deprotect is inflicted. If the Mounting Contempt attack is still charging, wait for it to finish. Then shift back to Cerberus and complete the fight. • At higher development (when you have most stage 9 inner ring nodes for the 3 primary roles filled), all characters are capable of taking a couple of attacks from Wladislaus, so you can change the Premeditation paradigm to a 2nd Bully (SAB/SYN/COM) to speed up fights by having Snow attacking from the start. The strategy is otherwise unchanged. • As you near maxing out the stage 9 primary roles for these characters, Mounting Contempt is no longer a serious threat. At this point you can change Dirty Fighting to Devastation. If Mounting Contempt happens and cures Deprotect, use Devastation to re-inflict Deprotect and then shift back to Cerberus. • Typical battle times will range from 25-35 seconds, with occasional longer fights if you have bad luck with Deprotect/Mounting Contempt. Once you can begin in Bully, expect typical fight times to drop to the 20-25 second range. As the characters near max development, typical fight times will drop under 20 seconds, and 15-16 second battles are possible. (Note: when Lightning learns Enfire she will cast that instead of Enthunder; this has no impact on the strategy). • With 25-35 second fight times, expect to earn nearly 2.6 million CP/hour. 20-25 second fight times will yield over 2.8 million CP/hour. At 15-20 second fight times, expect nearly 3 million CP/hour. • *: technically, the fastest CP farming in the game is Shaolong Gui farming. However, this is impractical since it involves completing several high level missions to unlock Shaolong Gui along with repeatedly fighting Shaolong Gui.
