Starting from scratch when reflecting on our Christian faith is crucial because it allows us to examine our beliefs with a fresh perspective, ensuring that our faith is built on a solid, well-thought-out foundation. This process also helps us better understand and engage with other worldviews, deepening our own faith while equipping us to communicate it effectively to others. • Let’s begin by exploring the major worldviews like Deism, Theism, Atheism, and Agnosticism: • 1️⃣ Deism • Deism holds that there is a creator, often referred to as God, who designed the universe with purpose and order but does not interfere with it after its creation. Deists believe that God exists and can be understood through reason and observation of the natural world, but they reject the idea of divine revelation, miracles, or active involvement in human affairs. • • Reflection for Christians: Exploring Deism challenges us to think about the nature of God's interaction with the world. Christianity, by contrast, teaches that God is actively involved in creation, most notably through the incarnation of Jesus and ongoing personal relationships with believers. • 2️⃣ Theism • Theism is the belief in a personal, active God who not only created the universe but continues to be involved in its affairs. This worldview encompasses several religions, including Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, which all share the belief in a God who reveals Himself, interacts with humanity, and has a plan for creation. • • Reflection for Christians: As Christians, our faith is rooted in theistic beliefs. Reflecting on this helps us see how central ideas, like the incarnation of Christ and the personal nature of God, set Christianity apart from other theistic religions. By starting from scratch, we reinforce why these beliefs hold weight and how they provide coherence to the Christian narrative. • 3️⃣ Atheism • Atheism is the belief that no gods or divine beings exist. Atheists typically argue that natural processes can explain the universe without the need for a supernatural creator or deity. • • Reflection for Christians: Considering atheism forces us to examine the evidence for our beliefs and the reasons we have for faith in God. It helps us articulate why we believe God exists and why Christianity provides the best explanation for the moral order, purpose, and meaning we find in life, which atheism often struggles to account for. • 4️⃣ Agnosticism • Agnosticism is the position that the existence of God or the divine is unknown or unknowable. Agnostics hold that humans may not have the ability to obtain certainty about the existence of a higher power, and therefore refrain from committing to belief or disbelief. • • Reflection for Christians: Reflecting on agnosticism reminds us of the importance of humility in our knowledge of God. It also encourages us to consider how God has chosen to reveal Himself, especially through Jesus Christ, and how Christianity invites us into a relationship with God, providing assurance and clarity in the face of uncertainty. • By reflecting on these categories of worldviews, we clarify what we believe as Christians and why Christianity offers a compelling and unique vision of reality, allowing us to grow in confidence in our faith and in our witness to others. • ********************* • LIKE, SHARE, COMMENT • 🛑🛑🛑SUBSCRIBE SUBSCRIBE SUBSCRIBE • ❌❌❌HIT THE BELL NOTIFICATIONS • ✅Juuna’e’s social media handles: • YT: @sorrynotsorryapologetics • IG: @creoleapologeticsluhvn • TikTok: @sorrynotsorryapologetics • Support the Sorry, Not Sorry Apologetics channel and help me get closer to my goal of doing ministry full time, bringing you endless content that helps you defend your beliefs!
