This piece was performed by Classical Pianist Dr. Hui Xu, recorded and produced by Inner Art of Music. Suggested Level: 6 (Elementary: 1~3; Intermediate: 4~6; Advanced: 7~9; Master: 10) • Hungarian Romantic composer Franz Liszt composed six consolations (S.172) for solo piano after he met the Polish Princess Carolyne zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, who became his soul mate in the rest of his life. In 1847, Liszt had concert tour in Kiev, and met Carolyne. She persuaded him to concentrate on composition instead of concertizing. Liszt retired from the stage at age 35, and began living with Carolyne together in Weimar, Germany. • This set of Consolations is often referred to as poetic thoughts. Consolation No. 3 is the most popular one in the set. This piece has been inspired by Chopin's Nocturne. This charming piece has lovely melody, simple and elegant. It’s been often performed as an encore piece in the concert. • Playlist: Relaxing Piano • #LisztConsolations #LisztConsolationNo3 #LisztS172
