Gabriele Tarquini, Fondmetal GR01, retires from the 1992 South African Grand Prix with engine trouble. • Despite what Murray said about the Fondmetal being the better car that Tarquini deserved, it suffered from a bit (just a bit!) of unreliability. Tarquini finished just one race, the British GP, before the team went bust! After 1992, Tarquini would make just one more F1 appearance, for Tyrrell in 1995. • Cheer on the small teams!
