During the holidays, my family would have a wonderful spread of southern goodies, with my aunt’s Old Fashioned Buttermilk Pie being one of my favorites. It’s simply heavenly! • There are minimal ingredients in this recipe, and I use a store-bought crust to keep things even easier. You can definitely make your own crust, if you prefer. Start by whisking the eggs. Add in butter and sugar. Mix until well incorporated. Now, for the secret ingredient: nutmeg! Once that’s mixed in, add the buttermilk, vanilla, lemon juice and all purpose flour. Mix everything until it’s nice and creamy. Pour the mixture into the pie crust and bake. Once the pie is completely cooled, it is time to dig in!
