Vitinica stretches on the east slopes of Majevica. It is the largest local community in the municipality of Sapna. It has a population of about 3000. There are 3 mosques and three islamic schools in Vitinica. The well-known mineral water produced in Kozluk is called Vitinka after the village of Vitinica. Vitinica has a primary school up to 9th grade, as well as a health center. Vitinica also has its own football club Mladost. Vitinica is located only 7 kilometers in a straight line from the state of Serbia and at the same time the closest place of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the state of Serbia. • Until the war, Vitinica was part of the municipality of Zvornik as a whole. During the war, the residents of Vitinica offered strong resistance to the aggressor. Major attacks were on Kovačević, Zečija Kosa, Hanđelić, Lanjišta, Selimović, Mahmutović. Despite fierce attacks by Bosnian and Serbian Serbs, the residents of Vitinica managed to defend themselves. The Serbs named the hill in Vitinica in the hamlet of Kovačevići the Hill of Death, because they often died on that hill when they tried to conquer Vitinica. • Vitinica se prostrire na istocnim obroncima Majevice.Najveca je mjesna zajednica u opcini Sapna.Broji oko 3000. U Vitinici se nalaze 3 džamije i tri mekteba. Poznata mineralna voda koja se proizvodi u Kozluku se zove Vitinka po naselju Vitinica. Vitinica ima osnovnu školu do 9 razreda, kao i zdravstveni dom. Vitinica ima i svoj nogometni klub Mladost. Vitinica se nalazi samo 7 kilometara zračne linije od države Srbije te ujedno najbliže mjesto Federacije BiH, državi Srbiji. • Vitinica se do rata u cjelini nalazila u sastavu općine Zvornik. Tijekom rata su mještani Vitinice pružili jak otpor agresoru. Veliki napadi su bili na Kovačeviće, Zečiju Kosu, Hanđeliće, Lanjišta, Selimoviće, Mahmutoviće.
