Known for his cheerful, populist style of classical music, Harvest is one of Morton Gould's more serious-sounding and abstract works. He truly was a composer of great depth, and this tone poem (composed in 1945 and dedicated to his wife) shows his grasp of the same sort of harmonies you might hear in the music of Roy Harris. • The paintings in this video are by Audra Ziegel.
