DIY Track Saw Upgrades

I finally got around to making a few upgrades to the DIY track saw I created back in 2016, including a detachable extension, an improved clamping method and better stability. • See the original DIY track saw here:    • DIY Track Saw   • TOOLS MATERIALS FEATURED IN THIS VIDEO • ▶ Bosch Plunge and Fixed Base Router Kit: http://amzn.to/2gyZ1TE • ▶ Rockler T-Slot Cutter Router Bit: http://amzn.to/2z9bVoq • ▶ Rockler 3/8 Straight Router Bit: http://amzn.to/2z9VTKU • ▶ Rockler 3/4 Straight Router Bit: http://amzn.to/2l6lR9q • ▶ Shop Fox 36-Inch T-Slot Track: http://amzn.to/2BJ1bzA • ▶ Kreg True-Flex Featherboard: http://amzn.to/2q0waAV • ▶ Bench Dog Tools Push-Bloc: http://amzn.to/2pzvf9c • ▶ 3M Virtua CCS Protective Eyewear: http://amzn.to/2l5EITE • OTHER NOTES • After adding the guide bar to the saw's base plate, the saw had a tendency to rock. Routing the slot so that the bar was fully supported underneath just made it rock on a slightly different pivot point. It's difficult to explain why, but it all had to do with the balance of the saw. • As I mentioned in the video, moving the guide bar over would have almost certainly fixed the problem, but that would have moved the track slot closer to one side. That would mean the other side would again have to be wider than the first to make room for the clamping T-slot. Since it was more valuable to me for the track to be symmetrical, and therefore double-sided, it was worth it to me just to leave the guide bar where it was.
