In this video, we discuss 9 literary devices definition examples - Simile, Metaphor, Allegory, Conceit, Allusion, Alliteration, Assonance, Anaphora and Antithesis. • Figures of speech in English Literature are used to highlight a particular description or to emphasize an interesting detail in order to beautify the literary work. Literary devices are used widely in poems, plays, novels and essays. • The first two figures of speech in english grammar that we look at are similes and metaphors. • Simile figure of speech is used to compare 2 unlike things with 'as' or 'like'. You can understand it better through the Simile examples discussed in the video.
