Mobile Collaborative Robot: https://www.fanucamerica.com/products... • This mobile collaborative robotic work cell was developed to demonstrate how FANUC remains at the forefront of innovation in collaborative robot applications – utilizing an automatic guided vehicle (or AGV) to move FANUC’s new CR-7iA/L long arm collaborative robot between two assembly stations. • At the first assembly station, the FANUC CR-7iA/L scans fiducial screws located at the corners of the assembly table to verify its position. All FANUC Collaborative Robots can be readily equipped with FANUC iRVision and Force Sensing. Next, it uses FANUC iRVision to read a 2D barcode and IDs the table it’s working on. The robot then grips and plugs its power source into a 120 VAC receptacle to charge its uninterruptible power supply (or UPS). The robot starts the gear assembly process by first picking and placing the ring gear into the assembly. It then follows with picking and placing each spur gear into the assembly. The CR-7iA/L Robot uses mounted vision to inspect the picking and placing locations for accuracy and part present during this entire assembly process. Once the assembly process is complete, the robot unplugs and calls for the AGV to move it to the next station. The AGV lifts the robot, and moves it to the second assembly station, where the robot is tasked with inserting relays onto a printed circuit board (or PCB). A stack light located on the robot’s platform turns yellow when the robot is in transportation. It turns green once contact stop is armed on the robot, and the red light only appears during robot fault. • Once again, the robot scans the fiducial screws to locate the table, reads the 2D barcode to identify the table, then grips and plugs its power source into a 120 VAC receptacle to charge its UPS. The robot starts the PCB assembly process by picking up a relay from the relay tray. The robot presents the pins of the relay for inspection and, upon passing inspection, inserts the relay onto the PCB. The CR-7iA/L Robot repeats this process until all four relays are inserted.
