With the Klingon-Federation War showing no signs of stopping, a weary Navis crew are assigned to patrol an area of space when they get notice of a compound found largely in warp drives present on a pre-Warp planet. Somehow hydrazine has found its way into the local water-table, and the crew of the Navis must discover how it got there before the unknowing natives sicken and die.
