Even small increments in sea level can lead to significant coastal retreat and an increase in the frequency of coastal flooding events. How a 10 cm rise in sea level can triple the occurrence of coastal flood events. • 3.) Projections that a 50-year flood event today could happen every 3-4 years by 2100 if sea levels rise by half a meter. • Nature-based solutions, such as mangroves, pose dual benefits.
