There are two types of fool's gold which are well known among geologists. These are pyrite and chalcopyrite, the latter of which is an important ore of copper. Yet, despite their characteristic of often being misidentified as gold, there is a special quality with some varieties of chalcopyrite; they can potentially contain as much as 100 parts per million of actual gold within them. Of course, most chalcopyrite specimens do not even contain a fraction of this aforementioned amount of gold within them. #shorts #short #gold • If you would like to support this channel, consider using one of the following links: • (Patreon: / geologyhub ) • (YouTube membership: / @geologyhub ) • (Gemstone Mineral Etsy store: http://prospectingarizona.etsy.com) • (GeologyHub Merch Etsy store: http://geologyhub.etsy.com) • Google Earth imagery used in this video: ©Google Data Providers • Various licenses used in sections of this video (not the entire video, this video as a whole does not completely fall under one of these licenses) and/or in this video's thumbnail image: • Pixabay License: https://pixabay.com/service/terms/#li...
