It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the sudden death of our beloved eaglet, Phoenix, of the Hornby Island Eagle Nest. She passed away on July 14, 2010. Her sudden death was caused by acute bilateral mycotic pneumonia. Although a rescue effort was underway, she died before help could arrive.
