A DIY tutorial on how to make a dress fit tighter. Wear your dress, and mark where you need to take in, and how much. Take the total number of the amount you will take in, and divide it by the number of seams and darts (if you have any). Then take in the divided amount at those points. For example, if you have a dress that's too big by 8cm total, and it has two seams on the side, divide the 8cm by 2. You get 4cm. Take in the 4cm at each side seam, meaning, 2cm at the front and 2cm at the back for each side seam. If you happen to have darts on your dress, for example 4 darts in total, front and back, it will be the 2 side seams + the 4 darts • =6. So you'll divide 8cm by 6 = 1.3cm. You'll therefore take in 1.3cm at each of the points, meaning each side of a point will be 0.65cm (1.3/2). However, you don't don't always need to take in at the darts, if you don't have too much ease. The sides will be just fine. • * For those who might think the dress is too tight, it's not (lol). It actually has stretch in it and feels very comfortable.* • Thanks so much for watching)) • Paypal - https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted... • • My social • Instagram : / sewstruck • Pinterest : / sewdiary
