EMTs traditionally work in emergency and non-emergency ambulance transport provided basic life support care to their patients. • In the United States, the EMT is the first rank for working in the ambulance service. Gaining access to a high school diploma or GED and gaining your driver's license is the first step in this process. • EMT School is typically 3 months long but some accelerated courses are 4-8 weeks, I recommend to most students the longer option so they have more time to understand the information.
