Cowlitz River Blue Creek Steelhead Fishing 2023

Catching a Steelhead is a great feeling. It is fun just to go fishing, however when you include catching ..... it is even better. Thanks ‪@adsoutdoors‬ for another awesome trip. Getting out fishing on a river was way overdue since our last trip over a month ago for Salmon and Steelhead. We knew it was going to be a grind, cast after cast not knowing if there were any fish in the system right now. It wasn't very big, but it was lot of fun. My rig today was a small red cheater, followed by a tiny pink-white cheater, above a 2 inch pink grub. I also had a fish on for a short time on a spinner, however we later saw a small Coho that was probably what hit the spinner. We would have liked to have gone fishing earlier to kick off 2023, however we will take this. Cowlitz River at Blue Creek launch is still early fothe run so still slow action. Fish On !!!
