What rule at your school backfired horribly? • A local pharmacy was built on the same street as my school, and pharmacies in our area tend to get robbed a couple of times a year. To make our school more secure, the administration decided to start locking all the doors and made it punishable by detention for any student who opened an outside door for someone else during school hours. Everyone had to go through the front doors, show their ID, and sign in before being allowed to enter the school. • I appreciated how secure the school was, but one day, our principal was giving a tour to some officials, showing off our new media production and medical sciences wing. They stepped outside to check out an outdoor set but ended up getting locked out. That particular spot was on the complete opposite side of the school from the front office.
