In this video, I discuss some emissions faults that are common among various makes and models and change the canister vent solenoid on a 2006 Buick Lacrosse with the 3.8L V6. • Cheap OBD scanner used to find what codes are coming up: https://amzn.to/36Ym9r2 • P0455 = A gross emission leak • Steps I would take to remedy: • 1.) Examine gas cap, depending on condition replace. Also look for dried or cracked vacuum hoses. • 2.) Replace the EVAP emission canister vent solenoid. This is what is shown replaced in the video and is located near the fuel tank. • 3.) Replace EVAP canister purge valve, which is located in the engine bay. • P0499 • Steps to remedy: • 1.) Since code is directly related to the EVAP canister vent solenoid located near the fuel tank (like shown in this video) replace solenoid. • Contact: [email protected] • DISCLAIMER: This video, description, and comments contain affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a small commission.
