Know how to make Vangibath powder that has a great aroma and can help prepare great-tasting Vangibath. Narrated in Kannada with English subtitles. • Ingredients: • Coconut Oil - 2 tsp • Coriander Seeds - 50 grams or 3/4 Cup • Bengal Gram - 50 Grams or 1/4 Cup • Urad Dal or White Lentils - 25 Grams or 3 Tbsp • Cinnamon - 5 Grams or 5 inches • Cloves - 8-10 • Black Flower - 1 tsp • Byadagi Red Chillies - 25-30 Grams or 18-20 Byadagi Red Chillies • Grated Dry Coconut - 1/2 Cup (Optional) (I have not used Dry Coconut in this recipe) • Method: • 1. Add 1/2 tsp Coconut Oil to a pan. • 2. Once the Oil is hot, add 50 grams or 3/4 Cup of Coriander Seeds. Roast Coriander Seeds on medium flame. Do not overroast the seeds. The aroma from the Coriander Seeds should appear and also the color has to change slightly. Once you reach this stage, transfer the roasted Coriander Seeds to a plate and allow them to cool. • 3. Add 1/2 tsp Coconut Oil to the same pan. Add 50 Grams or 1/4 Cup of Bengal Gram to the pan. Roast the Bengal Gram on medium flame. Roast till Bengal Gram changes its color to a slight brown. Switch off the flame and transfer them to the same plate. • 4. Add 1/4 tsp of Coconut Oil to the same pan. Once the Oil is hot, add 25 Grams or 3 Tbsp of Urad Dal or White Lentils. Roast Urad Dal on medium flame till they turn golden in color. Transfer the roasted Urad Dal to the same plate and allow them to cool. • 5. To the same pan, add 5 Grams or 5 inches of Cinnamon which has been cut into pieces. After roasting the Cinnamon for a minute, add 8-10 Cloves and continue roasting. After roasting these two ingredients for 1-2 minutes, add 1 tsp of Black Flower. Roast these 3 ingredients on low flame for a minute. Only roast till the roasted aroma appears from roasting these ingredients. Transfer these masala ingredients to the same plate as before and allow them to cool. • 6. Add 1/2 tsp of Coconut Oil to the same pan. Once the Oil is hot, add 25-30 Grams or 18-20 Byadagi Red Chillies. If you want the Vangi Bath powder to be spicy, go with 15 Byadagi Chillies and 4-6 Guntur Chillies. Roast the Red Chillies on medium flame. This will take 3-5 minutes. Add these roasted Red chilies to another plate and allow to cool. • 7. First, add the roasted Red Chillies to the big mixer jar and powder them. Powder them to a coarse powder. Now, add the roasted spices and the roasted Dals, and Coriander Seeds. Grind these ingredients into a fine powder. • 8. Transfer this Vangi Bath Powder to a plate and mix everything once. • This Vangibath Powder can be used for varieties of Rice Bath and also for Khara Bath Recipe.
