It was built in the 16th century on the site of the Stadium of Domitian, which was built in the 1st century AD. • In the very center of the piazza we find the famous Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi or Fountain of the Four Rivers by the famous artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1651).
