An infinitely large number of mental copies of a given system in thermal contact with a heat reservoir or thermostat form an ensemble in which the macrostate of the system is defined by the fixed parameters N,V and T. Such an ensemble is called a Canonical Ensemble. In a canonical ensemble the energy E of a system is necessarily variable. However, the system in contact with the reservoir forms a composite system, whose energy is fixed. Such a composite is described by the Micro Canonical ensemble. Taking these facts under account the expression for the Gibbs probability distribution function has been obtained in this video. • • Complete Playlist for Statistical Mechanics-    • Statistical Mechanics   • If you want to support this channel, then you can become a member or donate here- https://www.buymeacoffee.com/advanced... • This is completely voluntary, these donations can help increase the quality of the videos and the lectures overall. • Stay Curious, Keep Learning!
