Watch the Indian percussionist unveil his musical appeal in this live performance. • ~~~~~~~~~ • Vidwan Vikku Vinayakram Biography: • Thethakudi Harihara Vinayakram or Vikku Vinayakram, as he is famously known, is a world-renowned Master percussionist who has single-handedly popularised the ghatam worldwide. The instrument which was not given much importance in the world of Indian percussion before, today features in various world music albums. Shri Vikku Vinayakram has brought glory to the instrument as well as to Indian music worldwide. • Born in 1942 in Thiruchirapalli, Shri Vinayakram learnt music from his father, a well-known percussionist Thethakudi Harihara Sarma. At a young age, he began playing with great musicians like Shri Ariyakudi Shrinivas Iyengar, Shri Semmangudi Srinivas Iyer, Shri Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar and many more.
