Famous funnymen and legendary Hollywood personalities have listed their luxury homes for sale in hopes of cashing in on a luxury housing market that has continued on an upward trajectory first started at the end of last year, the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing reports. After a year on the market, actor and comedian Jim Carrey has dropped the price of his longtime Los Angeles mansion from the $29 million it listed for in February 2023 to $23.9 million. Built on a two-acre lot, the sprawling compound includes a waterfall pool, a lighted tennis court and treetop yoga platform. The 10,954 square feet of living space encompasses five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, an infrared sauna, steam room and private art deco-style theater with concession room. The environmental activist and ex-wife of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David has listed a four-bedroom, five-bath home in Los Angeles' up-scale neighborhood of Pacific Palisades for $8.9 million. The home, named “Porch House,” is nestled on a cliffside with 180-degree mountain views and is surrounded by native landscaping, including groves of lemon and lime trees. The 5,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor home was designed a decade ago by architect Johnston Marklee, whose other projects include the Museum Of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Portland Museum of Art in Maine and Rice University's Visual and Dramatic Arts center in Houston. A sprawling manor outside of New York City once owned by Tonight Show host Johnny Carson has hit the market for $5.3 million. The nearly 10,000-square-foot home includes six beds, eight baths, seven fireplaces, a pickleball court, outdoor spa, ice cream bar, three custom offices and a gym with an indoor cana bath and private sauna. The home was originally built as a stone barn for an apple orchard in the 1860s before it was converted into a private dwelling, Mansion Global reported, and was also once home to famous children's book illustrator Fritz Siebel, whose work includes the Amelia Bedelia series. The longtime Hollywood home of legendary TV game show host Bob Barker, who died in 2023, has hit the market for $2.988 million. The property (four bedrooms, three baths) has a history of famous owners, including the Los Angeles Times' first publisher Gen. Harrison Gray Otis and real estate developer Charles E. Toberman, famous for building the Hollywood Bowl and Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, according to the Wall Street Journal. The house—a designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument—was built in 1929 and includes original details from the time period (like a painted coffered ceiling), original stained glass windows and doors, a library with a bar and backyard pool. The Bel-Air home that legendary actress Judy Garland bought the same year she signed on to star in The Wizard of Oz —1938—is listed for sale at $11.5 million. The property has changed hands several times since Garland first bought the home and 2.7 acres it sits on. • • All data is taken from the source: http://forbes.com • Article Link: https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryroel... • • #newsnbc #newstodayusa #newstodaylocal #newstodayfox #kingworldnews #newstodaydonaldtrump #
