With an Omega Speedmaster Professional on board, Apollo 8 departed Earth, orbited the Moon ten times, witnessed an Earthrise from space, and returned safely from the other side. • The 2018 Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 features a 44.25mm black ceramic case, yellow and black leather strap, and ceramic pin buckle. The skeleton dial includes laser ablated moon surface accents and flourishes of yellow varnish. • Omega's caliber 1861 here becomes caliber 1869. Its blackened bridges have been treated with the same laser ablation as the dial, and all functional metal has been finished by chamfering and satin grained treatment. The manual wind Omega chronograph caliber features a 48-hour power reserve, beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and sits secure thanks to 50-meter water resistance. • A sapphire display caseback permits easy appreciation of the movement, and the blackened outer casebback includes the famous message we'll see you on the other side.
