The song was produced and recorded in Hamburg, Germany by Benni Dernhoff. The music video was shot, directed and edited by Roice Nel. • Man Made Moon is another word for satellite. Lindiwe wrote the song about a female satellite that is a bit delusional and stalks this particular guy on Earth. I wrote the song about being a single woman and the pressure there is to be in the next relationship, a sense of desperation to find someone new; you become a stalker in a way. I wanted this man made moon to stand alone, strong and confident in the end, explains Lindiwe. • The Man Made Moon music video is packed with over-the-top costumes and quirky dance moves that set the mood for this song. Lindiwe first released a one and a half minute fashion film shot by Roice Nel in 2011 that featured all the SA designers used in the stills shoot. The positive response to their fashion film convinced Lindiwe to add footage and turn the fashion film into a full-length music video. The music video was filmed in Cape Town by fashion videographer, Roice Nel. German music and film legend, Marius Mueller-Westernhagen co-directed and edited the music video with Roice. • In true Lindiwe style, she collaborated with local South African designers for all the looks for the music video. Designers Lara Klawikowski, Ida Elsje, Philippa Green, Cleo Droomer, Kutloano Molokomme, Suzaan Heyns, and Lameez Classen all created looks that were truly futuristic and captured the mood of Man Made Moon . • The music video was shot in studio to keep the feeling of alienation and isolation on an emotional level. The Man Made Moon music video was inspired by the stills shoot and captures the essence of the stills shoot. Lindiwe was inspired by the robotic movements and poses from the stills shoot shot earlier in 2011 with photographer Andrew Brauteseth. She worked with renowned choreographer Natalie Fisher to choreograph the dance movements.
