Ansbach has dedicated himself to investigating Miquella's purpose by following the trail of crosses he left behind. • As with the rest who followed Miquella into the shadow realm, Ansbach was under the influence of a charm, which breaks when the Empyrean abandons his Great Rune. With his mind freed of the charm, Ansbach recalls that he once challenged Miquella in an attempt to free Mohg of his enchantment, which resulted in him falling under the enchantment himself. • With his faculties restored, Ansbach makes his way to the Specimen Storehouse within the Shadow Keep. There, he learns that Mohg's body has been taken to Miquella, and with the assistance of the Tarnished discovers that Miquella intends to use Mohg's corpse as a vessel for his king consort. • Ansbach becomes one of Leda's possible targets, resulting in a duel which the Tarnished may intervene in on either side. Should Ansbach survive Leda's attack, he will aid the Tarnished against Leda, Dryleaf Dane, and their allies in Enir-Illim. Ansbach will then be available to assist the Tarnished in their battle against Promised Consort Radahn, before which he admits that he knows the Tarnished was responsible for killing Mohg, but bears no grudge against them, viewing Mohg's death as an honorable one.
