Trump leading Harris in Latino voters according to new poll

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump’s campaigns are trying to reach every voter they can with just two weeks to go until Election Day and an increasingly shrinking share of undecided Americans left that could decide who goes to the White House. • A new USA Today/Suffolk University poll showed Trump leading Harris by 11 percentage points with Latino voters. The poll places Harris at 45% and Trump at 44% nationally, but specifically with Latino voters, Harris has fallen back in support. The new poll showed Latino voters backing Trump with 49% to Harris’ 38%. • The race has remained a toss-up as it enters the closing stretch, especially in the seven battleground states that will decide the balance of the Electoral College with neither candidate opening a significant lead in recent public polling. Trump and Harris are separated on the margins in each of the battlegrounds — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — amplifying the importance of persuading every voter they can before Nov. 5. • “As time goes on, it's like cement hardening — the longer time goes on, the more the more fixed in their previous preferences they are — and they become either Trump voters or Harris voters,” said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center. • An Emerson College survey released this week shows a tight race nationally with most people having already decided who to vote for.
