High pressure remains in control of the weather pattern so the weather continues to be stagnant with a shield of anticyclonic gloom continuing to sit over the top of the country. The coming week promises some changes though, with a repositioning of the anticyclone bringing more in the way of sunny spells through the early part of next week and the possibility of something from the north towards next weekend... • Saturday morning has been mostly dry with a lot of gloomy skies. We've seen a few showery bursts of light rain and drizzle towards eastern coasts and temperatures have been chilly. • This afternoon will keep mostly dry weather going but watch out for more pockets of light rain and drizzle on the east coast. It will be a cold, dank and gloomy day for most parts of the country with the best of any spells reserved for northern and western Scotland, north west England and north Wales. Temperatures will be quite cold at 7C to 12C. • Overnight, a band of showery rain pushes eastwards into western Scotland and Northern Ireland with the rain reaching north west England by morning. The rest of the country will stay dry with a lot of cloud. Temperatures generally quite chilly at 2C to 7C but milder in the west at 10C to 13C. • The weather system will carry on pushing southeastwards across the country tomorrow taking increasingly light and patchy rain with it. Brighter skies will follow to the northern half of the country with some places seeing their first spells of sunshine this month! Southern counties will stay gloomy though. Temperatures will range from just 7C to 9C in the east to a milder 12C to 14C in the west. • The last of the patchy rain clears from the south on Sunday evening with clearer skies pushing southwards. Most places will have a dry and cold night with long clear spells. Temperatures will range from 0C to 6C with frost likely in the north. • High pressure is back in over the top of the country on Monday so we're looking at a mainly dry day with sunny spells. Temperatures will be near normal at 6C to 12C. • High pressure dominates the weather on Tuesday. Most places should stay dry once again with good sunny spells and variable amounts of cloud. A few showers are possible in the south east corner. Temperatures will be close to average again at 6C to 12C but the north east wind will make the south east corner feel chilly. Watch out for some quite cold nights early and late. • A weather system could push southeastwards into the high pressure on Wednesday taking patchy rain and drizzle with it. Brighter skies should return to the north with temperatures of 8C to 12C. • Thursday and Friday should keep plenty of dry weather going with high pressure continuing to rule the roost. We should see more in the way of sunny spells but watch out for some dense mist and fog patches. Temperatures remain near normal at 7C to 11C but nights are likely to be quite cold where skies are clear. • Next weekend is quite uncertain but we may see high pressure pulling out into the Atlantic with a cold front pushing southwards across the country introducing much colder air from the north. One to watch! • Summary: Another mostly dry week but skies should finally brighten up. Temperatures won't be too far from average. Possibly cold snap next weekend. • **END** • TWO: https://www.theweatheroutlook.com/ • W-Z: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/ • Week Ahead Weather Forecast: 9th To 17th November 2024 • #WeatherUK #WeekAheadForecast #sevendayforecast
