We want to use our trailer wiring, we'll just pull it out here, make sure it's not going to get stuck in the latch and we can close our trunk over it. When we're done hooking it to our trailer and we're no longer towing, open our trunk up again, re-secure our connector cover here. We can grab the wires and then we'll just store it here underneath the carpet so it tucks up out of the way, just like that. Here's what our kit consists of, we have our wiring here, with our connectors that will plug into the vehicle's taillight assemblies, so we'll have our working trailer lights. We have this module box here which makes sure there is no back feeding of voltage through the trailer back in the vehicle's lights, or the computer system in the vehicle could cause any damage. We have this roll of wire here, which we'll connect from our module assembly here directly to our vehicle's battery using the included fuse holder and fuse. • • We have a few electrical connectors here for attaching that to the wire and the module light and the ring terminal to go to our vehicle's positive terminal on the battery. A couple of zip ties to secure stuff and finally, a self tapping screw so we can ground out our wiring harness to the vehicle's body. Last but not least, there's a piece of double sided tape here to secure our module assembly inside the trunk of our vehicle. Now that we've gone over the features of our wiring harness, I'll show you how to install it. We'll begin our installation by opening our trunk. We'll move the factory accessory trunk mat here. • • Fold our carpet that's attached to the front, back a little bit and remove the spare tire cover. Then we need to remove the clips that hold this plastic in place. We'll just slide in there with a panel tool, remove the center and come in behind it and take the rest of it out. This will just pull off here and then this should slide out with this, like so. I'm going to do the same on the other side. • • Additionally, there's one more here in the middle, we'll just try to pop that out the same s the other two. Just like that. Now we can grab our panel and pull straight up on it. We'll just pull it out and set it out of the way. We need to gain access behind our taillights. There's a couple of these clips that hold the carpet in behind it, we'll pop them out just like the other ones, like so. • • Additionally, there's one more clip right here. If you remove that one it may be easier to fold the carpet back all the way and gain full access to our connector. We'll do the same on both sides. We'll begin with folding our carpet back here. I went ahead and hooked a bungee cord up to the carpet on the other side and hook them like that, it pulls the carpet back for us and we have access to our connectors. On our driver's side, our taillight connector is right here. There's a tab right there where my thumb is, push on the tab with my thumb and disconnect it like that. We'll do the same on the other side. Now I'll take our wiring harness here, the side with the yellow will go to the driver's side along with the entire module. We'll take the male end with the plug on our tow harness and we'll plug it into the side going towards our taillight, like so. The female end will plug into the vehicle end, just like so. At this time, where I have this module placed, down in the cavity of our driver's side of our trunk. This is where I'm going to place it for the permanent installation with the double sided tape. I'll pull it back here, take our double sided tape, peel off one side, place it onto our module like so, press down on it nice and securely. Then we'll pull off the other end and we'll stick it onto the body of the vehicle, right there. Perfect. We will attach our ground wire right here to the body, we'll stick our ground wire here over our self tapping screw. We'll take our connector ends with the green and red wire, run them over to the passenger side and make our connections there. Again, the male end goes to the taillight, the female end goes to the vehicle end. Our access wire, we'll just zip tie to the factory wire going across the trunk so it will stay up and out of the way. We'll just use the included zip ties that it comes with and go along it. Every several inches, we'll just put a few zip ties. Now we'll cut off our excess zip ties that we have. A red power wire on our control module, we'll strip off a bit more of the insulation than this already is so we have about a 1/4 or so hanging o
