How to Knit Linen Rib Stitch in the Round

Linen Stich is easy to work and fun to knit. Through the use of slipped stiches and holding the yarn in front it creates a densely packed fabric that lays flat. This makes it a great stitch to use on scarfs and blankets as it is less prone to curling. It is also great for additional warmth and for garments that need to be a little stiffer in their construction. By combining it with other colors its also a great stitch to use in stash busting projects, be prepared though as it will use more yarn per square inch than other stitch patterns due to slipping stitches. The texture of the stitch looks similar to woven fabrics that is why it is called the linen stitch. • • You will need to use Circular or Double Pointed Knitting Needles DPNs. If this is your first time try working it in a gauge swatch. You will know which color to use by looking at the stitches on your needles. Use the opposite color of the slipped stitch on the top for your next row. • Linen Rib Stitch Worked in the Round • This pattern repeat is the same for working this stitch with two colors or with just one color.
