Dr. Edward Fruitman, M.D. explains how addictive are Adderall and Oxycontin. Both has a bad reputation when it comes to the possibilities of addiction -- but just how true is this? • It's true to say that both Adderall and Oxycontin are from the same class of drug -- that is they are both schedule 2 narcotics, which for those of us who aren't medically minded, means they are potentially addictive drugs, which need to be carefully controlled. Of course, when they are prescribed properly, reviewed regularly and taken as they're meant to be taken, all is well. • However, Adderall and Oxycontin are very different in terms of their level of potential addiction. • Adderall, when taken at the prescribed dose, does not need to be tapered off, and if stopped or missed, the patient will not go through withdrawal or notice any particularly severe symptoms, as would be the case with Oxycontin. It's important to stress that this is only the case when taken correctly, at a prescribed dose. • Adderall isn't nearly as addictive as Oxycontin, however if taken the wrong way, or obtained in the wrong way, it can have potentially addictive qualities, and should never be taken or altered without consulting your physician first, as with all medications. • • Check out or New ADHD Channel: / @adhdchannel8981 • • https://trifectahealthnyc.com/ • (800) 385-3905
