In this video, I derive the general solution to the wave equation by a simple change of variables. It's a much shorter and simpler method than the one discussed in the last video, so I thought that I would do it as well. Like in the last video, I determine that the general solution to the wave equation consists of the addition of two functions, which we will later (i.e. in the next video) see represent forward travelling and backward travelling waves. • Questions/requests?
