Assembly is even easier, just the same 3 parts over and over. If you're already pretty decent at chords strumming, there's not too much to challenge but it's a great one for cementing the most common chords and strumming pattern. • We start off with the most famous four chord combo. ever. The chord shapes G, E minor, C, and D. If you're not 100% familiar with these shapes, I recommend utilizing some of the switching tips that we go over at the beginning. I also recommend you take a look at this Wikipedia article about the 50s progression, because these are all the songs you could play. • As for strumming, we take the most common strumming pattern ever we break it down into two parts, put it back together, and then we figure out how to apply it to the tune. We play through each section using downstrokes only (to work out the switches) and then adding the strumming pattern. • The song has a verse, chorus and bridge, three distinct sections, but each one on its own quite simple. At the very end when there's a little bit of a rhythm thing, as they say boardwalk boardwalk. It's simple, you just strum on the word board, and on the word walk. But I also show you how to count it so you know how to do it absolutely precisely. • Next time we have another pier-related tune for you all. Any guesses? (Psssst... It's Otis Redding's Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay ) • All the best! • -James • --- • http://goodguitarist.com/under-the-bo... • / goodguitarist • / goodguitarist • #undertheboardwalk #thedrifters #guitartutorial
