Fly Fishing Suede Leather Lures are out in our online shop: http://www.mezzfishingtackle.co.uk • These fly lures have some interesting and unique features, they wiggle and spin when retrieved and the spinning action is a contra rotating spin and does not tangle or twist the leader. It is a similar action to our other proven swivel-less fly lures. • Extra colours can be added with permanent ink marker pens/ felt tip pens. If more flash is wanted then extra fibres can be tied to the hook. • Suede leather is also an ideal material for holding both artificial and natural bait flavourings i.e. worm, eel, cod-liver oil, halibut oil, or the many other types of bait enhancing flavourings and oils that can be brought from tackle shops. Other products like marmite and Bovril etc can also be rubbed into these suede bodies. • Another new and innovative part of these fly lures is how they are fitted to the hook, they are fitted directly to the hook by putting the hook point through the suede body at the head end and then the body has water proof glue applied that strengthens the head at the point where the hook is fitted. The idea behind this is so that the suede body is free to wiggle along the whole length of the body and not prevented from wiggling as a conventionally tied fly would. • Other advantages of this are the hook can be small and lighter as this method of fitting does not mask the hook point with extra fibres and tying thread etc. As the hook is at the front it definitely helps to prevent the hook from hanging down and constantly catching up when fished close to the bottom features, as conventional tied flies tend to do. The new way of fitting gives more natural lifelike movement and will still be moving when retrieved very slowly or left to hang in slow currents. When extra Weight is added these fly lures will still wiggle when left to sink which then makes them an ideal fly lure to try a sink and draw type of retrieve, to cover all depths much faster and more effectively. • Another advantage of suede leather is the fact that they will hold their shape much better and longer then chamois leather and when put away, them just lay them out in their natural curved shape and let them dry out. Then when used again they will soak up water and start to wiggle again when they are retrieved.
