As the musical director and theme song composer of Paramount TV's 80's series, SOLID GOLD , I loved doing these summer specials — such as this one from 1984. • Enjoy this countdown of summer classics hosted by Marilyn McCoo. Performers include The Go-Go's, Eddy Grant, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, America, The Association, Jimmy Buffett, John Sebastian, Martha Reeves, The Angels, Frankie Avalon, the Captain Tennille, and Carl Wilson. Plus, vintage film footage of the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and Elton John. Comedy from the Smothers Brothers, Al Franken Tom Davis, as well as Wayland Flowers and Madame. All live performances were arranged and produced by myself (Michael Miller - aka 'Mickle' ), and this episode aired in the summer of 1984. • The members of my SOLID GOLD band were: • Michael Miller - synthesizers • Rocky Davis - keyboards • Stewart Levin - keyboards • George Doering - guitar • John Goux - guitar • Jeff Gerson - percussion • Michael Fischer - percussion • David Edelstein - bass • Ron Aston - drums • Background singers: • Jon Joyce • Joe Pizzulo • Kipp Lennon • Deborah Davis • Edie Lehmann • Sunny Wilkinson • Beth Anderson • Gail Lopata • Mitzi McCall • Myrna Matthews • Audio Recording Engineer: Howard Wolen • Assistant Engineers: Clyde Kaplan and Magic Moreno • Audio recorded at A M Studios (now Henson Studios) • Unfortunately, due to copyright restrictions, the audio for Let's Go Crazy by • Prince The Revolution at 30:41 had to be muted in order for the rest of this video to be published.
