If you are interested in doing Youtube videos with a similar style to the Apple product videos, this video has some helpful tips and advice on what equipment you need to buy and things you need to consider in your studio setup. The two main things covered in this video are backdrop systems and lighting. • If you want your videos to look almost exactly like Apple's videos (mine do not in this video) you will need to use 4-5 lights (I am using 2). • You'll want to have two cross lights lighting your background so it is over exposed in the video. You'll want a fill light on the subject (you), a hair light from above, and a key light to create contrast. This is your standard studio setup for this type of video. • For your backdrop, seamless paper usually works best. I recommend Savage as a good brand. But if you prefer Muslin, like I do you will want to use a steamer to get out any wrinkles or even iron it. Dry cleaning can also help with this.
