Exploring Finland by driving along Highway 6 from Helsinki to North Karelia, I make stops along the way. One of the creepiest attractions in Finland is perhaps the Parikkala Sculpture Park. Artist and sculptor Veijo Rönkkönen (1942–2010) built this remarkable park in Parikkala, Finland, close to the Russian border. The distance from Helsinki to Parikkala Sculpture Park is approximately 350 kilometers (about 217 miles) by car. • Sculpture Park is about a hundred meters from the Russian border, right on the edge of the Border Zone. The border zone is at its widest where the park is situated. In theory, you can easily see into the Russian side. The train tracks run behind the park, and immediately beyond them lies the border zone and the boundary line. • https://www.patsaspuisto.net/#english • LIKE. COMMENT.
